Bhandara Rain News: Wainganga has sprouted! Floods in Bhandara District Ambhora bridge in danger!

Bhandara: Heavy rainfall has persisted in the district for the past two days, causing the Wainganga River to exceed its danger level and leading to renewed flooding. Currently, the river at Kardha is flowing more than one and a half meters above the danger mark.

    Poklen Machine Swept Away

A bypass bridge is under construction at Ambhora near Bhandara, where various Poklen machines and construction materials are located. This morning, the floodwaters carried away a Poklen machine from the site.

The current is moving toward the Gosekhurd tank, posing a risk to the new bridge under construction at Ambhora. The machine was swept away around 6:30 AM.

Additionally, villages in the area are at risk as high-tension power lines are being damaged by the drifting machine. As a precaution, the power distribution company has shut off the power supply to these lines.

All gates of Sanjay Sarovar 4, Pujritola 8 in Madhya Pradesh and Dhapewada Dam in Gondia district have been opened and water is being released continuously. Therefore, Wainganga river in Bhandara district has crossed the danger level.

Efforts are being made by the administration to prevent a repeat of the deluge that occurred in 2020 and 2022. The British-era bridge connecting Bhandara has been submerged by the Wainganga river.

Water is flowing from the bridge from one and a half feet. Therefore, the traffic of small vehicles has been stopped.

What is the exact reason behind the flooding?

The flooding is primarily due to the release of water from multiple dams. Consequently, the Wainganga River in Bhandara district has exceeded its danger level.

The administration is actively working to prevent a recurrence of the severe flooding seen in 2020 and 2022. The British-era bridge connecting Bhandara has been submerged, with water flowing over it by one and a half feet. As a result, traffic for small vehicles has been halted.

Widespread Potholes Plague Wainganga Bridge in Bhandara

Bhandara, the Wainganga Bridge has recently become a source of significant concern for commuters due to its deteriorating condition. The bridge, which serves as a critical link for transportation in the region, is now riddled with large and dangerous potholes that pose a serious risk to motorists and pedestrians alike.

The potholes on the Wainganga Bridge have been growing progressively worse, with some holes spanning several feet in width and depth.

These cavities not only damage vehicles but also create hazardous conditions for drivers, particularly during inclement weather when they are less visible.

Local residents and frequent travelers have reported numerous incidents of vehicles getting damaged or having near-accidents due to these potholes.

Maintenance and repairs has allowed the problem

The situation has been exacerbated by the heavy rainfall experienced in recent months, which has further eroded the bridge’s surface. The lack of timely maintenance and repairs has allowed the problem to escalate to its current state. Concerns have been raised about the safety of the bridge, with fears that its structural integrity could be compromised if immediate action is not taken.

In response to the growing alarm, local authorities have announced that they are aware of the issue and are prioritizing repairs. Plans for patching up the potholes and conducting a thorough assessment of the bridge’s overall condition are reportedly underway.

However, there is a pressing need for swift intervention to prevent any potential accidents and ensure the safety of all who use the bridge.

For now, commuters are advised to exercise caution when traveling across the Wainganga Bridge. It is imperative that the necessary repairs are expedited to restore the bridge to a safe and functional condition.

The community remains hopeful that with prompt action, the bridge will soon be free of its hazardous potholes and serve its purpose safely once more.

  • Maharashtra BJP Chief Son’s Audi Causes Pile-Up in Nagpur, Injuring Two

Nagpur: In the early hours of Monday, an Audi Q8, registered in the name of Maharashtra BJP president Chandrashekar Bawankule’s son, Sanket, was involved in a dramatic sequence of events in Nagpur. The vehicle reportedly sped out of a high-end pub at around 12:30 a.m., colliding with three cars and a scooter in Ramdaspeth. The series of crashes led to a pile-up before the car continued its reckless journey, ultimately crashing into another vehicle 6 kilometers away at Mankapur.

Two individuals were injured in the accident.

Arjun Haore, an engineer who was reportedly driving the car, and his friend, businessman Ronit Chinthamwar, have been arrested. Haore is known to be a friend of Sanket Bawankule. Zonal DCP Rahul Madne confirmed that blood samples of Haore and Chinthamwar have been sent for forensic analysis to check for alcohol consumption. “We are investigating the case from every angle,” said Madne.

Despite the severity of the incident, the FIR does not include the car’s registration number or Sanket’s name, though sources suggest he may have fled the scene during the chaotic 10-kilometer drive. A senior police officer indicated that Sanket was not present at the accident sites.

Suspicion has been cast on the police investigation due to discrepancies in the FIR, such as the missing registration number and the names of the accused. The registration plates of the Audi, which are now in police custody, were reportedly found concealed beneath the seat.

Bawankule has called for a fair and thorough investigation.

“The law should be applied equally to everyone, regardless of their status. Those responsible should be held accountable,” he asserted. Bawankule confirmed that the Audi belonged to his son, Sanket.

CCTV footage shows that the Audi, after departing from the bar in Dharampeth, traveled at high speed for approximately 2 kilometers before causing a collision at Ramdaspeth and hitting several other vehicles. Following this, the car accelerated and crashed into another vehicle on the Mankapur flyover.

The noise from the crash attracted local Ganesha Mandal devotees, who, along with the injured, pursued and intercepted the car. Haore and Chinthamwar were subsequently beaten by the crowd and taken to Timki, 6 kilometers from Mankapur. Police from the Tehsil station later arrived, rescued them, and transported them to a hospital for medical attention. Senior inspector Chandrashekhar Chakate, however, described the incident as a “kirkol ghatna” (trivial event).

From Thursday morning, there was a significant crowd of tourists. However, questions have been raised about why necessary security measures were not implemented for the safety of the tourists.

If security measures had been in place, the life of the young person who drowned could have been saved, or the young people could have been prevented from performing stunts with police assistance, according to the tourists.
