FIITJEE Centres in Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh Close Abruptly
Several FIITJEE coaching centres in Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh have unexpectedly ceased operations, leaving numerous students and parents in uncertainty. The affected branches include those in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar and Noida’s Sector 62, as well as centres in Meerut, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, and Varanasi. FIITJEE, established in 1992 by D.K. Goel, is renowned for preparing students for competitive exams like the IIT-JEE.
Teacher Resignations and Financial Troubles
The sudden closures are attributed to a wave of teacher resignations, primarily due to unpaid salaries and more attractive offers from other institutions. Management staff and former faculty members have confirmed these issues, indicating a financial crisis within FIITJEE. Additionally, the institute has faced challenges stemming from recent administrative actions against its branches for violating licensing and fire safety regulations.
In Ghaziabad, parents of affected students have expressed their outrage by filing a First Information Report (FIR) against the institute. The complaint, lodged earlier this week, accuses FIITJEE of abruptly halting operations, thereby jeopardizing their children’s academic preparation. Parents are demanding refunds of fees, which reportedly range from ₹3.5 lakh to ₹5 lakh per student.
The closures have left hundreds of students in a difficult position, disrupting their preparation for crucial competitive examinations. As the situation unfolds, affected families are seeking clarity and resolution from the institute’s management.
