Rajesh Rawani, a veteran truck driver with over two decades of experience on India’s roads, has found unexpected fame online. His passion for cooking has propelled him to become a well-known YouTuber through his channel, R Rajesh Vlogs.
Originally from Jamtara, Jharkhand, Rajesh has garnered a substantial following with over 1.86 million subscribers. His success online has allowed him to purchase a new home with his earnings.
In a conversation with Sidharth Kannan, Rajesh Rawani shared that he earns between ₹25,000 and ₹30,000 per month as a truck driver. In contrast, his income as a YouTuber varies with viewership, typically ranging from ₹4-5 lakh, with his highest earnings reaching ₹10 lakh in a single month.
Rajesh recounted his first viral video experience, saying, “I had posted a video with a voiceover while people kept asking to see my face. So, my son made a video showing my face, and it garnered 4.5 lakh views in just one day.”
“We’re managing both the trucking and the YouTube channel simultaneously, and it wouldn’t be possible without my family’s support and help,” Rajesh said.Rajesh’s father, who also worked as a driver, was the sole provider for their family of five, sending ₹500 each month.
This amount was often insufficient, leading the family to rely on loans.In his latest YouTube video, published at 11:30 AM on August 18, Rajesh Rawani discusses the Bihar flood. The footage, taken the previous day, shows him driving towards Guwahati, noting that he still has 850 km to go.
