Nagpur is facing a significant heatwave, with only light drizzle reported in the mornings and evenings. Citizens have reacted to the rising temperatures and relentless sun over the past few days. The Meteorological Department warns that the heatwave will persist and intensify in the coming days.
Rain Forecast and Temperature Trends
The Indian Meteorological Department predicts that conditions in Northeast India may lead to heavy rains with gusty winds. This weather pattern could also impact isolated areas of Marathwada and South Central Maharashtra, where light rain is likely.
No major changes are expected in maximum temperatures across Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada. However, North Maharashtra may see a slight decrease in minimum temperatures over the next two days, followed by a gradual increase. In Vidarbha, the heat is particularly intense. Chandrapur recorded a maximum temperature of 38.3 degrees Celsius, Wardha reached 37.7 degrees Celsius, and Nagpur hit 35.7 degrees Celsius. Nandurbar in North Maharashtra reported the highest temperature in the state at 40 degrees Celsius, while Mumbai recorded 37 degrees Celsius.
