Bhandara: In a shocking development, another murder has occurred in Tumsar taluka, just six days after a similar violent incident at Mohgaon mine. On Saturday, August 10, around 2 p.m., a father fatally attacked his son in Rongha village. The victim, Eknath Dhanraj Thakre, 34, from Govardhan Nagar, Tumsar, was killed by his father, Dhanraj Doma Thakre (58). The Gobarwahi police have arrested the accused and are investigating the case.
Eknath, who worked as a junior clerk in the Minor Irrigation Department in Tumsar, lived with his family in Govardhan Nagar. Facing financial difficulties, Eknath frequently requested financial help from his father. On the day of the murder, Eknath went to his father’s village to ask for money. This request sparked a heated argument between them, which escalated into violence.
In a fit of rage, Dhanraj attacked Eknath with an axe, striking him on the neck. Eknath was found dead in a pool of blood, while Dhanraj sat in a state of shock next to the body. The police arrived quickly, arrested Dhanraj, and sent Eknath’s body for a post-mortem at the Tumsar sub-district hospital. The murder has caused significant tension in the village.
Mohgaon Mine Murder Case: Earlier, on August 4, a 60-year-old man named Satyawan Gaikwad was brutally murdered at Mohgaon mine due to an old feud. Satyawan, who lived alone while his sons resided elsewhere, was discovered dead with severe head injuries in a pool of blood. The Sihora police acted swiftly, utilizing a canine squad to investigate, which led to the arrest of Shailesh Uike (35) as the primary suspect in the case.
