A magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck Delhi-NCR early this morning

Early on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 5:36 AM, a magnitude 4.0 earthquake jolted Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). The epicenter was near Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education in south Delhi’s Dhaula Kuan area, at a depth of five kilometers. The tremors lasted for approximately 35 seconds, accompanied by a loud rumbling noise.

Residents Experience Panic; No Damage Reported

The earthquake caused panic among residents, many of whom rushed out of their homes. Videos circulated on social media showing people standing outside their houses and fans shaking during the quake. Despite the strong tremors, there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

PM Modi Urges Calm Amid Aftershock Warnings

Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged residents to remain calm and stay alert for possible aftershocks. He emphasized the importance of following safety precautions during such events.
